PackMin Contact Scanner is a simple CRM system designed to be used at trade shows.
It works in conjunction with a barcode scanner that can scan the visitor badges common at these trade shows. These badges have a special barcode on them that contains the general contact details of the visitor.
PackMin Contact Scanner captures these details and keeps track of all your visitors.

One of the most difficult tasks at a trade show is keeping track of all the people you meet at the show. It can be very busy with lots of people to talk to. It's very easy to forget who you spoke to and what you said to them, but this information is vital to remember so that you can contact them after the show.
We have been doing trade shows for a few years now and we have found that this is the best way of keeping track of your visitors.
Just scan the barcode on the visior badge and up pops a window like this:

Here you can store all their details, as well as prioritise them, and keep track of who spoke with them, and some comments.
All the contacts are stored in a folder for each show so that you can keep them organised:

As you do more shows, you can build up a history of shows. If you see the same person at multiple shows, you can see the history of your contact with them in the form as shown below:

We get asked a lot about how we can scan badges that we have no control over (we are not affiliated in any way with any of the show organisers) and the answer is that we have included a lot of smarts into the Contact Scanner.
When you start a new show, just scan your exhibitor badge and up will pop a screen asking you to confirm which format the barcode is in:

This allows you to choose the format that understand the badges used at the current show. If there is no match (ie, the organisers are storing the details in a new format) then just click "None of the items match" and the PackMin Contact Scanner will look at the barcode and try to work out the format. We store lists of all the suburbs, first names, surnames etc in Australia and do an intelligent lookup. Then you can change the automatic results if they're not right with the editor:

And if you get part way through a show and you realise that you have the wrong format, you can re-choose the format and it will update the details of all the contacts you have scanned in the show!
The main page of the Contact Scanner shows some statistics of the system:

At the end of the show, just export the data to a .CSV file and use either Excel or your own CRM application to massage the data:
